Early recordings.
Rizwan describes himself as a singer, music producer and songwriter from Lahore. The production account trp_music_pk preserves recordings shared in 2013, including “Ansu,” “Gharoli” and his Nescafé Basement work. A 2014 “Chaandaniya” cover credits him with recording and production at Xs Studios.
Finding his audience.
Nescafé Basement became an important platform for his singing and guitar work. His original “Bhangi” sits alongside reinterpretations such as “Tere Ishq Mein.” In 2016, producer Xulfi spoke of Rizwan’s move from the Basement to Coke Studio as a source of pride for the show.
Meri Meri.
For Coke Studio Season 9, Rizwan joined Sara Haider on “Meri Meri,” a rendition of Bulleh Shah’s poetry. Shani Arshad composed and directed the music, with Strings producing. The official performance mixes Sufi vocals with country and blues touches.
