Before the camera.
Robin grew up in Forres, studied Politics and History at Glasgow, then Broadcast Journalism at City University London. TV work included Channel 4, Sky, NBC Universal and ITV.
A project of their own.
The Man For Himself blog began in November 2012, followed by YouTube in April 2013. Robin wanted to create, report and edit independently, eventually leaving the day job to make the platform a full-time focus in January 2016.
Finding an audience.
Hair tutorials and grooming advice built the channel over time. In a December 2017 interview, Robin described a personal turning point: the previous month had brought the channel’s highest subscriber growth yet and 1.1 million views.
From reviews to products.
Anforh launched in 2023. Its first Texture Volume Spray run sold out. Robin developed the brand around fine-hair frustrations and feedback from the Man For Himself community.
