Mini bio
How it started.
After beauty school and a retail job, Samantha gave herself a month to build an Instagram career in 2013. She reached 10,000 followers that month and a million within a year. Her makeup skills and dry humor became the foundation of her videos.
Talking honestly about beauty.
Alongside tutorials and reviews, Samantha has discussed sponsorships and the realities of influencing. In 2018 she publicly stepped away from beauty PR packages over waste. She also stopped retouching skin in her photos, a principle reflected in Auric’s commitment to showing real skin.
Beyond the tutorials.
By 2019, Samantha was co-hosting Approachable with her best friend Alyssa Anderson, bringing their conversations to a weekly podcast. Her channel now also includes reading updates and book reviews.
Making her own products.
Samantha launched Auric in 2021 with Glow Lust luminizer and Smoke Reflect eye shadow duos. She later collaborated on an eight-brush Sigma set and the Sam x Salt blush collection. Auric closed in October 2026; in her farewell, she thanked fans and shared a look at ideas that never made it to launch.
