Mini bio

How it started.

Stella tried a marketing degree before deciding it was not the right fit. A conversation with their mother, who had noticed their love of makeup, led to studying makeup artistry. Beauty-counter work gave Stella experience with different faces before the move into full-time freelance work in 2017.

Finding an audience.

Stella built an Instagram audience by filming makeup applications during shoots and model collaborations. A 2021 episode of The Makeup Insider traced growth from 8,000 to 80,000 followers. The combination of practical demonstrations and professional work gave fans a window into the kit and the creative process.

From the kit to Tu & Kit.

The brand grew out of a familiar working-artist frustration: digging through a makeup bag to find pencils. Stella designed organisers to keep essentials accessible. Tu & Kit’s own account of the brand says each bag is designed by Stella and refined through repeated revisions.
