Mini bio

How it started.

The Prodigy formed in Braintree in 1990 after Liam Howlett met dancers Keith Flint and Leeroy Thornhill through the local rave scene. A tape of Howlett’s own tracks helped turn that connection into a live group. Maxim joined at their first gig, and XL Recordings signed them. Charly brought them into the UK top three in 1991.

From rave to the world.

Experience arrived in 1992, followed by Music for the Jilted Generation in 1994, their first UK No. 1 album. Firestarter and Breathe helped carry 1997’s The Fat of the Land to No. 1 on the US Billboard 200. Their records joined electronic production to the energy of a band on stage.

Keeping the connection.

After Keith Flint died in 2019, Howlett and Maxim continued The Prodigy. They returned to the stage in July 2022. Their 2025 and 2026 announcements brought fans arena tours, the return of Warriors Dance and anniversary editions of Firestarter and Breathe.
