Mini bio

How it started.

Zeb began taking photographs around age 13, using their sisters and neighborhood girls as subjects. In their Leica interview, they recall carrying clothes in a backpack for shoots in an abandoned house, then taking the pictures to a local shop to be developed. Around 24, they left their job to pursue photography full time.

A career in images.

Their agency dates their freelance photography career to 2004. Work for GQ, Numéro and Vogue followed, alongside portraits and beauty photography. They later moved into directing music videos, fashion films and personal shorts.

Finding a film voice.

Zeb directed Adolescence in 2019. In their own crowdfunding account, they describe festival selections and a 2021 Canvas broadcast for Pride month. For Fan Letter, they returned to memories of first love and coming out, with Tab Hunter’s memoir adding another starting point.

Back to the coast.

Meet Me by the Water grew from a film idea about fishermen into a photographic project and first book. Zeb returned to the English coast they had visited for their first short film, exploring tenderness and friendship through scenes that suggest a larger story.
