Mini bio
How it started.
Aaron began making websites with friends in high school. At USC, an interest in film led to entertainment internships, including Paramount Pictures in 2004. Awkward file sharing at work and emailing files between school computers helped inspire a college project on online storage. That project became Box, launched in early 2005.
Finding the audience.
Box began as an online storage service, then Aaron steered it toward businesses that needed easier, secure ways to share and collaborate on files. That shift became central to the company’s identity. In 2013, Inc. named Aaron its Entrepreneur of the Year. On January 23, 2015, Box reached the New York Stock Exchange.
Building in public.
Aaron remains Box’s co-founder and CEO. Alongside that job, Aaron uses social posts and interviews to work through ideas about technology. On Latent Space, Aaron described a feedback loop: share problems encountered at Box, learn from other people’s experiences, and bring those lessons back into the business. Recent conversations focus on what AI agents need to work inside real organizations.
