Before boAt, Aman worked in the audio industry, handling sales for brands including JBL, Harman Kardon and AKG at Harman International. A country manager at House of Marley introduced Aman to Sameer Mehta after both approached the company about distribution. Their skills fit together: Aman brought sales and marketing experience, while Sameer knew distribution, logistics and finance.
Building boAt.
Aman and Sameer launched the boAt brand in 2016. It started with durable charging cables before expanding into audio products and wearables. In a 2021 Mint interview, Aman described the idea as a lifestyle brand playing in electronics, with affordable products made for young consumers.
A familiar face.
Shark Tank India brought Aman to television audiences in 2021. Alongside evaluating pitches, Aman shares business and lifestyle content online and appears on podcasts. In March 2024, the National Creators Awards recognised that public presence with the Best Celebrity Creator Award.
Starting again.
In March 2026, Aman introduced Offbeat Studios after moving away from day-to-day operations at boAt. OFF/BEAT announced ₹100 crore in seed funding the following month. The venture’s legal adviser describes its focus as using technology and AI to serve India’s evolving creator and content ecosystem.
