Mini bio
How it started.
Anjali’s interest in dermatology grew from experiencing acne and other skin conditions personally. In What Acne Gave Me, Anjali recalls severe teenage acne and finding confidence in learning rather than appearance. The first dermatology job came in 2005, in a department with its own laser unit.
From posts to a book.
Online work included explaining research, ingredients and acne treatment. According to Anjali’s official website, Penguin noticed that social media presence and approached Anjali to commission The Skincare Bible. Published on 5 April 2018, it brings everyday routines and common skin concerns into one practical guide.
Building Self London.
Anjali founded Self London in 2023, bringing dermatology together with support beyond the skin itself. Today, the clinic’s team biography lists acne, scarring, pigmentation and laser dermatology among Anjali’s specialisms. Recent Substack essays also explore beauty culture, professional responsibility and the influence of technology on medicine.
