Mini bio

How it started.

Originally from Greece, Arianna studied economics at Cambridge and became president of the Cambridge Union at 21. A publisher saw a televised debate and offered a book contract while Arianna was still at university, opening the door to a writing career.

Building a new kind of newsroom.

Arianna co-founded The Huffington Post in 2005. The news and blogging site became a major digital media business, and AOL bought it in 2011 for $315 million.

Rethinking success.

A collapse from exhaustion in 2007, which left Arianna with a broken cheekbone, prompted a rethink of work and well-being. Thrive followed in 2014, asking readers to measure success beyond money and power. The Sleep Revolution arrived in 2016, focusing on sleep and its place in everyday life.

What fans can follow now.

Arianna launched Thrive Global in November 2016 to address stress and burnout. Today the work spans behavior change technology, essays and conversations about healthier habits, human growth and AI. The monthly On My Mind newsletter offers another way to keep up.
