Dance came first.

Born in Chennai to Tamil parents, Arthi moved to the UK aged two and grew up in Nottingham. She studied philosophy, politics and economics at Warwick before moving to London for journalism. Working on choreography for a dance competition made her curious about how the accompanying mix was assembled. She took lessons at London Sound Academy and began pursuing DJing more seriously in 2019.

A home on the radio.

Jyoty invited her to make a guest mix for Rinse FM in 2020. Covers and further guest slots followed, then her own show in 2021. Alongside DJing, Arthi worked in journalism and danced professionally, including on a Beyoncé shoot with choreographer Ivan Blackstock.

Bringing dancers into the booth.

Her Arthi Hard parties put music and dance together, with DJs and dancers sharing the stage. By 2024 the series had reached cities beyond London. That year also brought a sold-out four-week Phonox residency, an Australia and New Zealand tour and her debut single Run It For Me with Razor. Mixmag included her among its 25 breakthrough DJs of 2024.
