Mini bio

How it started.

Brian grew up as a competition dancer in Scottsdale, Arizona. His early screen work included Newsies and Kids Incorporated, and he opened his first dance studio at 16. In a Dance Spirit interview, he credited mentors Marguerite Derricks, Jamie King and Kenny Ortega with helping him develop his own movement vocabulary.

From dancer to choreographer.

His work with Britney Spears includes co-choreographing “I’m a Slave 4 U” and choreographing “Toxic.” He later worked on “Hold It Against Me” and “Till the World Ends.” Television brought another audience through judging and choreography on So You Think You Can Dance and creative direction on The X Factor.

Passing it on.

Teaching runs alongside his production work. He co-created The Pulse on Tour, created The Main Event and has taught with Radix Dance Convention. His online mentorship program, The Talent Collective, was designed to reach students who could not travel to train with him.

Still making and moving.

Brian choreographed Melanie Martinez’s K-12 film and returned to performing in Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” video in 2025. He also serves as a vice president of the Choreographers Guild, which works for choreographers’ economic stability and protection.
