Mini bio

From the counter to the treatment room.

Beauty ran in the family: Caroline’s mother and grandmother worked in the industry. She started on the Aveda counter at Harvey Nichols in 1997, trained in beauty therapy and moved into consulting for brands and retailers in 2008.

The blog that brought fans together.

Caroline launched her blog in 2010, sharing skincare explanations, product reviews and recommendations. Her readers became known as the Freaks. The practical approach carried into Skincare, her 2020 debut book, which reached number one on the Sunday Times bestseller chart.

Building beyond the blog.

In 2020 she founded Beauty Backed to support beauty professionals. She launched the Skin Rocks app and skincare range in 2022, then brought her conversations with beauty figures and friends to the podcast Glad We Had This Chat. Skin Rocks Pro followed in 2025, taking the brand into clinics and professional treatments.

A growing bookshelf.

Teen Skincare arrived in June 2025 for younger readers and their parents. In October 2026, Skin Rules expanded her writing into topics including hormones, nutrition and the myths surrounding modern skincare.
