Mini bio
Finding design.
Chris was born in Saigon. His family fled Vietnam in 1975, first settling in Kansas City and later moving to San Jose. He discovered graphic design at 17, drawn to its mix of drawing, typography, music, and packaging.
Building Blind.
After graduating from ArtCenter College of Design in 1995, he founded Blind. The studio brought together design and motion for commercial work. His direction of The Raveonettes’ Heart of Stone led to an Emmy for art direction in 2010.
Finding his audience.
He began making YouTube videos with Jose Caballer in 2014 through The Skool, then formed The Futur in 2016. He says the videos began connecting when they became more organized and focused on teaching. Today, he brings that practical approach to lessons on pricing, sales, branding, and running a creative business.
