Mini bio
How it started.
While studying atmospheric physics at Oxford, Adam became more interested in closing the gap between climate research and public understanding. He told Global Health NOW that a conversation in a pub inspired his first video: a man used the ice in his gin and tonic to question sea-level rise. Explaining the difference between floating ice and melting land ice showed Adam how much a conversation could change.
Finding his voice.
ClimateAdam mixes explanations with jokes, characters and visual analogies. Adam says he makes himself the target of the humour to help the videos feel less like lectures. An early recognition came in 2019, when How (not) to talk about Climate Change, credited to Adam Levy, Geoff Marsh and Adam Corner, took second place in Inside the Greenhouse’s video competition.
Science with company.
The channel’s collaborations include Katharine Hayhoe on visualising climate change and GEO GIRL on the lessons in Earth’s ancient climate. Alongside YouTube, Adam works as a science journalist, presenter and moderator. In April 2025, he joined Anna Turns at the International Journalism Festival to discuss translating climate science into stories for social media.
