How it started.

Damien began by posting mirror selfies of outfits worn to work. Debenhams was the first brand to dress them for an event. A blog followed in 2015, becoming 1943.ie in 2018; in 2021, Damien moved to London to work for The Rake. They co-founded the menswear newsletter Raphoe in 2022.

Finding the format.

“Let’s Get Dressed” began in December 2021. A tattoo video helped Damien discover the value of speaking directly to viewers, and character-inspired outfits followed. In a 2023 interview with Jake Woolf, Damien described growing from 40,000 Instagram followers to 1.2 million in 90 days.

Beyond the outfit.

The work now reaches into watch design and tailoring campaigns. Damien’s official link page also points fans toward fragrance, while their YouTube channel has expanded into golf vlogs.
