Mini bio
How it started.
Before makeup became her career, Danessa worked in the medical field and then beauty publishing while raising two children. That publishing job brought her close to makeup artists and opened up a creative path she had not expected.
Learning by doing.
She taught herself through research and practice, then began teaching other artists. Product development became another part of her work before she founded Danessa Myricks Beauty in 2015, aiming to make makeup more inclusive.
A wider audience.
Colorfix made multi-use pigment central to her brand. A Sephora partnership followed in 2021, bringing her work to more makeup lovers. Today she continues developing products and sharing techniques through workshops and social media.
