Mini bio

How it started.

Darren began blogging in November 2002, writing about spirituality, pop culture and life in Australia. He had trained in theology and spent a decade in ministry; his first blog grew out of planting a church.

Learning in public.

In September 2004 he launched ProBlogger to record what he was learning about earning money from blogs and to meet others doing the same. It became a place where new bloggers could find practical help with writing, readers and running a business.

Beyond blogging tips.

Digital Photography School followed in April 2006. Friends kept asking how to use their cameras, so Darren put his answers online. In 2008 he and Chris Garrett published the ProBlogger book with Wiley. His 31 Days to Build a Better Blog workbook arrived in 2009, and he started the ProBlogger Podcast in 2015.

A return to ministry.

Darren says he stepped back from his blogging work to focus on ministry full time in 2025. He now serves at One Church in Blackburn, Melbourne. Still Wondering holds his writing about faith and theology, while his personal blog follows his experiments with AI and the tools he builds.
