Mini bio

How it started.

Before the microphone, Sacks built software businesses. He entered tech at PayPal in 1999 as its first product leader and later served as COO. In 2008 he founded Yammer, bringing social-network-style communication into the workplace.

Building and investing.

Microsoft announced its $1.2 billion acquisition of Yammer in June 2012. Sacks later founded Craft Ventures. His firm’s biography lists early investments in companies including Airbnb, Facebook, SpaceX and Uber.

From poker table to podcast.

All-In began during the pandemic, when four friends could no longer meet for their weekly poker game. Sacks, Chamath Palihapitiya, Jason Calacanis and David Friedberg turned those conversations into a show about business, technology and society. The show’s own site calls Sacks “The Rainman.”

Beyond tech.

Sacks also produced Thank You for Smoking, the Jason Reitman film starring Aaron Eckhart. His public work later expanded into federal technology policy, including an AI and crypto advisory role announced in December 2024.
