Mini bio
How it started.
Dawin grew up in Brooklyn playing guitar and piano, and began pursuing music seriously at 16. In 2014, a Vine pairing “Just Girly Things” with Alfonso Ribeiro’s Carlton dance brought his home-recorded music to a much wider audience. He signed with Casablanca, the Republic-associated label.

“Dessert” followed in 2015, with both a solo version and a remix featuring Silentó. The Sunday EP arrived in 2016 and included “Jumpshot” and “Bikini Body,” the latter featuring R. City. Dawin released his debut album Errors in 2017 and followed it with Memory Card in 2019.
Still making the music.
His recent work includes “DONDOTTA” and the San collaboration “ANGELITOS” in 2025. In 2026, Dawin and Kewin Cosmos released “Pasito Prohibido” and a bachata version. The original single credits Dawin Polanco with songwriting, production, recording, and mixing.
