Mini bio

How it started.

Before rap, Curry wanted to be a poet. A teacher encouraged that interest and took him to poetry slams. By sixth grade he was rapping, and he released his first mixtape at 16.

Finding a voice.

Curry emerged from Carol City and SpaceGhostPurrp’s Raider Klan. His 2013 release Nostalgic 64 helped establish him as a solo artist. “Ultimate,” produced by Ronny J, followed in 2015 and became a breakout. Curry told Viper that he originally wrote it without a beat.

Room to change.

Imperial, TA13OO, and ZUU expanded his catalog. On 2022’s Melt My Eyez See Your Future, Curry connected more open writing to the work he had done on his mental health. His collaborations with Kenny Beats, now Kenneth Blume, continued from UNLOCKED in 2020 to ii in 2026.
