Mini bio
How it started.
The eldest child of immigrant parents, Divya described an early interest in medicine in her VoyageLA interview. She studied psychobiology at UCLA, earned her medical degree at Drexel and completed her dermatology residency at the University of Florida. Research in dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania helped draw her toward the specialty.
Building her own practice.
She opened Ocean Skin and Vein Institute in May 2019. When the pandemic interrupted in-person care, she used telehealth to keep seeing patients. In her interviews, she connects dermatology with helping people feel more confident about conditions others can see.
Taking the conversation online.
Fans can find her discussing pigmentation, retinoids, hair and skin aging in short videos. She also co-founded Oathology with fellow dermatologist Dr. Mona Mislankar. In an August 2025 introduction, she said the brand grew from patients asking for skincare that was simpler to navigate.
