How it started.

Before streaming became a career, Ben used Twitch to check on characters farming in Diablo III. In a 2016 Bungie interview, DrLupo explained that Destiny’s Trials of Osiris brought a new purpose: playing with friends, meeting people, and helping viewers reach the Lighthouse.

Finding a wider audience.

Destiny led into battle royale games such as H1Z1, then Fortnite brought a larger audience. Streams with Ninja, Myth, and TimTheTatman helped make DrLupo a familiar face in that scene. An exclusive YouTube deal followed in 2021, and DrLupo returned to Twitch in September 2024.

Building something together.

St. Jude says DrLupo’s support began at GuardianCon in 2017. Build Against Cancer grew into an annual charity stream, with games and guests bringing the community together. By December 2021, lifetime fundraising had passed $10 million, then a record for a single St. Jude creator.

Beyond the shooter lobby.

Tabletop games are part of the story too. DrLupo worked with Maestro Media and designers Jeb Havens and Bobby West on Streamer Standoff, offering ideas and feedback drawn from streaming life. The game launched on a birthday stream in March 2024 and reached retail that July.
