Mini bio
How it started.
Erin grew up in Wichita with her grandmothers’ Midwestern comfort food. Living in Madison while her husband attended law school, she began blogging in 2012 as a creative outlet. Her early recipes made familiar favorites lighter and kept a student budget in mind.
Making the leap.
In 2014, she left her consulting job to work on Well Plated full time. The personal recipe journal grew into a site visited by millions each month, with approachable meals and everyday grocery ingredients at its center.
From the screen to the cookbook shelf.
Her debut, The Well Plated Cookbook, arrived in August 2020 with more than 130 recipes. Well Plated Every Day followed in October 2024. On her newsletter Well Actually, she also shares travel guides, personal essays, and recipes beyond the main blog.
