Mini bio
How it started.
Faakhir came to music from electrical engineering. In the 1990s, he played keyboards in Awaz with Haroon and guitarist Asad Ahmed. Looking back in GLAM, he remembered the friendship and the work of finding a song’s final shape together.
Finding his own voice.
His solo breakthrough included the patriotic “Dil Na Lagay Pakistan”. Aatish introduced his solo catalogue, followed by Sub Tun Sohniyeh and Mantra. The latter includes “Mahi Ve” and a “Jiya Na Jai” duet with Sunidhi Chauhan.
Behind the arrangement.
On Coke Studio season 9, he directed and arranged “Afreen Afreen” for Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Momina Mustehsan. He also sang “Dilruba Na Raazi” with Zeb Bangash, adding composition and directing the music for the adaptation of Fazal Malik Akif’s song.
