Mini bio
How it started.
Frankie grew up in a small Wisconsin town and was scouted during sophomore year of high school. In their V153 interview, they recalled taking a trip to New York and staying with modeling rather than pursuing college.
The breakthrough.
An early collaboration with Steven Meisel led to photographs in Italian Glamour. By 1997, Frankie was making a Paris runway debut. Vogue covers and work for major fashion houses followed, building a career across editorials, campaigns and shows.
A long-running career.
Sports Illustrated’s own archive preserves Frankie’s 2004 Adirondacks shoot and 2005 Swimsuit photographs. In 2024, McQueen reunited Frankie and Debra Shaw for the first campaign under Seán McGirr. Recent work includes V153, Saint Laurent campaigns and a closing walk for Michael Kors.
