Mini bio

How it started.

Born in Brighton in 1968, Glen found a route into photography through the magazines his friends loved. In a Models.com interview, they recalled visiting The Face with a fashion student friend, asking for work and learning through a series of assisting jobs, including a year with Norman Watson.

Finding a voice.

Early work for The Face included The Stone Roses. Glen later recalled an Arena story featuring Tara Turner as an early publication, and a 1994 Harper’s Bazaar shoot with Kate Moss that still prompts requests to recreate its spontaneous street pictures.

The Prada years.

Glen credits Vogue Italia’s Franca Sozzani with introducing their work to Miuccia Prada. The resulting campaigns mixed fashion with lighting and settings drawn from cinema. Those 1996–98 images became the book Glen Luchford Prada 96-98, published by IDEA in 2020.

Beyond the still image.

Glen’s work also includes Closed Contact with painter Jenny Saville, the 2001 film Here to Where and Gucci’s science-fiction campaign Gucci and Beyond. Atlas brought campaign work and personal material together in Milan in 2025, before travelling to Seoul in 2026.
