Mini bio
How it started.
Raised in San Francisco, Grace began by photographing friends skating off homemade jumps and making Xerox zines. That habit of paying attention to friends and their worlds grew into a practice built around subcultures and the things people love.
Finding an audience.
Grace earned a photography B.F.A. at Pratt Institute and cut their teeth working with Ryan McGinley. Their 2016 exhibition Dig in Your Heels, Stick to Your Guns was followed by a place on the 2017 Dazed 100. That year, Grace and Julian Klincewicz brought PURE, DESIRE, a collaboration photographing young people in Iceland, to Tokyo.
From zines to fashion stories.
Books remain part of the work: Grace published Music for My Eyes with Dashwood Books in 2018 and CDMX in 2020. A visit to a Norwegian record shop helped spark Dreaming is Heavy Metal, exploring black metal fandom through photographs and experimental printing. Their recent commissions include portraits for WYouth and HommeGirls, alongside photography for Dior.
