Mini bio

How it started.

Headie One grew up on Broadwater Farm in Tottenham. Rapping began as something to do at school and with friends, before time spent writing and freestyling in prison encouraged a more serious commitment. After release in 2017, Headie recorded a song on the first day out. [British GQ](https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/gq-hype/article/headie-one-interview)

Finding an audience.

“Know Better”, made with RV, became a breakout in 2018. The distinctive pauses and “shh” delivery helped the track travel online. “18HUNNA” with Dave then reached the UK Top 10 in January 2019, bringing that drill sound to a wider audience. Making room for more.

The catalogue grew through collaborations with Fred again.. on GANG and Drake on “Only You Freestyle”. Debut album EDNA, named for Headie’s late mother, entered the UK album chart at Number 1 in October 2020. K-Trap collaboration STRENGTH TO STRENGTH followed in 2023, then second studio album The Last One in 2024. The next chapter.

By the 2026 PORT interview, Headie was speaking about ownership, the work of running a label and writing music wherever travel takes them.
