Mini bio
How it started.
Jabbawockeez formed in San Diego in 2003. Kevin Brewer and Joe Larot brought together friends who shared an approach to dance, drawing on a community of freestyle dancers. Their name comes from the creature in Lewis Carroll’s poem "Jabberwocky."
Why the masks matter.
The white masks and gloves direct your attention to the whole crew. In a Backstage interview, Phi Nguyen explained that they create choreography together, with members contributing sections, while solos are often freestyle. Their identity rests on that shared movement rather than a single lead dancer.
From television to the Strip.
Winning the first season of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew in March 2008 brought the group a national audience. In 2010, MÜS.I.C. made them the first dance crew to headline a Las Vegas show. PRiSM, JREAMZ and TIMELESS followed before FREQNCY opened in October 2025.

Their official channel brings the crew’s work beyond the theater, from their 2017 NBA Finals halftime performance to the 2018 "BOOM" dance film with Tiësto’s music. In 2026, their releases included a PUMA campaign, a GAM Esports collaboration and a Bust A Groove tribute to Anna Sarao.
