Mini bio

How it started.

Raised in Seattle, Jaymes picked up his parents’ classical guitar and taught himself to play. He was already writing poetry, and began recording songs at home. After moving to Los Angeles in 2012, he recorded and mixed Dark Star in his apartment. The project drew attention from blogs and record labels in 2013.

Songs that found their people.

Dark Star and the 2014 EP Habits of My Heart introduced his blend of indie pop, R&B and electronic production. “I’ll Be Good” became an early calling card. He also sang alongside Birdy on David Guetta’s “I’ll Keep Loving You” and teamed up with Phoebe Ryan for “We Won’t.”

Feel Something.

His debut album arrived in June 2017, bringing together “I’ll Be Good,” “We Won’t” and “Infinity.” He wrote, produced and recorded the album in his bedroom. A sold-out first North American headline tour followed, alongside touring with artists including Oh Wonder, Vance Joy and London Grammar.

A second life online.

“Happiest Year” arrived in 2019. Jaymes later explained that fans helped him hear a wider message of gratitude in a song written during a difficult period. “Infinity” found another audience through TikTok, reaching the platform’s Viral Chart summit. In January 2022, he expanded Feel Something with a deluxe edition featuring “Nothing Holy.”
