Mini bio
How it started.
Jen began writing about health and cosmetics in the final year of university. Work at a natural health distribution company exposed how much misinformation circulated in the field. After further study in formulation chemistry, Jen left that career and launched The Eco Well in 2016. The Institute of Personal Care Science recounts this path in its interview profile.
Building a place to learn.
The Eco Well grew into expert interviews and free virtual conferences. In April 2026, White Rabbit Social reported that the summit series had brought together more than 30,000 attendees and over 140 vetted speakers across more than 12 events. Jen polls the audience for topics and works with subject specialists to vet speakers.

Alongside consulting, Jen co-founded BeautySciComm in 2023 and mentors aspiring science communicators. Their University of Ottawa doctoral research examines misinformation and environmental outcomes, including in cosmetics. It is a thread fans will recognize across the podcast: asking who knows a topic, what the evidence supports and how to share it clearly.
