Mini bio
How it started.
Grand grew up in Birmingham and studied at Central Saint Martins. In a Models.com interview, Grand recalled meeting Rankin through an exhibition and helping fold the early Dazed & Confused. That hands-on beginning grew into years of making fashion images for the magazine.
Making magazines.
After Dazed came The Face and Pop. Grand launched LOVE with Condé Nast in February 2009, choosing Beth Ditto for its first cover. Perfect followed in 2020; its current masthead lists Grand as founder, editor in chief and director.
A life in pictures.
The 2022 book Tears and Tearsheets gathers magazine pages from Grand’s styling career, keeping their original layouts and even the creases between pages. It gives fans a way to trace the images and collaborations across different magazines.
