Kelly’s gentle parenting journey began with a question. After posting on TikTok for advice about her young son hitting her, a commenter suggested the approach. She began reading about it and sharing what she was learning. By November 2022, RTÉ reported that 389,000 people followed her TikTok journey.

Kelly created Byron & Medina ten months after her first son was born. Her interest in versatile baby clothes, natural tones and pieces that would last through growth led her to research brands, sample materials and open a children’s shop.
