Mini bio
Before PedsDocTalk.
Mona grew up in Southern California, studied psychobiology at UCLA, and earned her osteopathic medical degree at ATSU-SOMA in Arizona. She completed pediatric residency in Albany, New York, and began practicing in 2015.
Finding her voice.
PedsDocTalk grew out of frustration with short clinical visits that left parents needing more explanation. Her early Instagram posts featured a Bitmoji version of herself. In 2020, she started the podcast while on maternity leave after a traumatic birth, making room for longer conversations with parents.
A growing community.
By July 2025, she was celebrating one million Instagram followers. Her work now spans parenting education and broader conversations about the policies and public health issues that affect children. In October 2026, the podcast won Gold and Listener’s Choice at the Signal Awards.
Care beyond the exam room.
In December 2025, Mona announced she was leaving her clinical practice to become Chief Medical Officer at Poppins. She described the move as a chance to shape care around clear communication, follow-up, and the needs of families.
