Mini bio

How it started.

Raised in Hokkaido, Japan, Koko says an unhappy experience with chin surgery at 27 led her to explore face yoga. In her Tatler interview, she recalled sharing exercises on YouTube and being surprised by the response. That audience encouraged her to teach professionally, with Fumiko Takatsu becoming her mentor.

Finding her audience.

Koko built her work around facial exercises and what she calls Face Posture, the everyday habits of holding and moving the face. Her tutorials reached an audience beyond Japan, and Kim Kardashian became a client. Television appearances including Shark Tank and Keeping Up with the Kardashians brought her teaching to more viewers.

Beyond the tutorials.

Her work also includes beauty books, an app and instructor training. She founded Mirai Clinical after childhood memories of hurtful comments about her grandmother’s body odor stayed with her. The brand focuses on persimmon-based personal care. In 2025 she returned to Shark Tank with Mirai Clinical, following her earlier face yoga pitch.
