Mini bio

How it started.

Masumi grew up in Japan and first encountered yoga while studying in Los Angeles. Her Yogafest biography says she later left a hotel job after four and a half years to study yoga in Ubud, Bali, and become an instructor.

Finding her audience.

After teaching in Thailand, she began uploading to YouTube around April 2020 to stay connected with students overseas during the pandemic. In a Wellness Story interview, she said she initially filmed and edited everything herself. The interview records more than two million subscribers by November 2023.

What she shares.

Her Face Lift Yoga approach combines facial exercises, stretching and massage. Alongside free videos, MSM Face Studio offers a 21-day bootcamp, a 14-day gua sha challenge and teacher training. Her teaching also includes the neck, shoulders and posture.
