Mini bio
How it started.
Leila originally imagined studying chemistry and fine art to restore paintings. A one-week jewellery-making course during their foundation year at Central Saint Martins changed that plan. They went on to study jewellery design and train in diamond grading at GIA, with early experience at Suzanne Syz, Asprey and Stephen Webster.
The first chapter.
They established LeiVanKash in January 2011, bringing Persian references, hand-carved forms and colourful stones into the designs. British Vogue traced an early breakthrough to Olivia Palermo wearing a ring and bracelet from the label in 2011. By its August 2012 interview, the collection had arrived at Harvey Nichols.
From jewels to personal style.
Leila told SheerLuxe that Instagram began as an account devoted to the jewellery brand before evolving into a wider view of their style. Today, that eye for accessories runs through outfit ideas, travel writing and Behind the Carat. Their Craft, Carat & Conversation video series sits down with jewellery designers to explore inspiration, process and the stories behind the pieces.
A new editorial chapter.
In April 2026, Leila announced a formal contributing editor role at Marie Claire UK. They described it as a full-circle moment: the magazine had supported LeiVanKash around its 2011 launch. Their work now spans accessories, jewellery, consulting and content creation.
