How it started.
Liah started posting on YouTube in 2011. Growing up in Korea and attending a women’s university surrounded by beauty shops gave Liah plenty to explore on camera. Work at AmorePacific added an inside view of the industry.
Finding a voice.
The channel connected with viewers through Liah’s own struggles with acne. Reviews and explanations of skincare became a place to question complicated routines. By the time Liah left a corporate job, the channel had reached 120,000 subscribers, according to Tatler’s founder interview.
Pressing reset.
Liah founded KraveBeauty in December 2017, bringing that simpler approach into a skincare line. In the brand’s founder letter, Liah describes years of trying treatments and too many products, then wanting to help people step back and listen to their skin.
Beyond the bathroom shelf.
The work now also explores beauty’s waste and supply chains. Videos take fans from ingredient sourcing on an Indonesian tamanu farm to product development and packaging decisions. In July 2026, Female Daily reported an extended break from KraveBeauty; later channel uploads continued to cover skincare and sustainability.
