Mini bio
How it started.
Linda launched Linda’s Book Bag on 7 February 2015 to share thoughts on the books she read. Before blogging, she worked in education as an English teacher, local authority adviser, educational consultant and Ofsted inspector. Reading teenage fiction for Hodder and joining the LoveReading reader panel helped make a blog feel like a natural next step.
Finding her readers.
The blog grew from personal reviews into author interviews, guest posts, blog tours and book spotlights. Linda has described making space for independent authors and smaller publishers whose books can struggle to find attention. In 2016, she won Best Book Review Blog at the Bloggers Bash Awards; the Romantic Novelists’ Association named her Media Star of the Year in 2017.
A reading life.
Her reviews focus on how a book feels to read, rather than star ratings. Beyond the blog, she has reviewed for My Weekly and helped organise the Deepings Literary Festival. She has said she does not accept payment for work on Linda’s Book Bag.
