Mini bio
How it started.
Born in New York and raised in Paris, Luka grew up around fashion through a stylist mother and designer father. Modeling arrived by chance: casting director Kevin Amato spotted Luka leaving a SoHo internship and invited them into a Hood by Air shoot nearby.
The first big stage.
Virgil Abloh introduced Luka to Kanye West as a young creative. Luka was cast on the spot for West’s 2015 Adidas presentation, bringing a growing online presence onto a much bigger fashion stage.
Making their own work.
With photographer Noah Dillon, Luka developed Hot Mess, a multimedia project shown at Milk Studios in 2017. Photography, poems, clothes and a book were part of the exhibition. Their partnership began with a Twitter message about Dillon’s photographs.
Finding a screen character.
In 2018, Luka played fashion student Luca Hall in grown-ish. They told Teen Vogue that the role drew on their own personality, with input into the character’s clothes and dialogue.
Building Marking Distance.
Luka and James Pierce introduced the clothing label in 2023. It grew from a travel-photo account into a fashion project shaped by their shared taste. By 2026, Luka was overseeing production and a showroom while continuing to act.
Back with Jarmusch.
After appearing in The Dead Don’t Die, Luka returned to Jim Jarmusch’s cinema in Father Mother Sister Brother. As Billy, opposite Indya Moore, they explore a quieter family story set in Paris.
