Mini bio
How it started.
Lydia grew up in a village between Liverpool and Manchester and studied English at the University of Liverpool. Blogging brought together two interests: sharing outfits and writing. The early blog, The Millennial Girl’s Guide, mixed fashion with a humorous take on life in your twenties.
Learning the craft.
An internship at luxury online magazine La Vida gave Lydia experience writing fashion and lifestyle articles, choosing images and publishing in WordPress. In a 2020 interview, Lydia credited that experience with helping them become a full-time blogger.
Finding an audience.
Practical explanations of outfit balance became a signature. By 2023, coverage of the viral sandwich dressing technique credited Lydia with bringing it to wider attention: repeat a colour or visual weight at the top and bottom of a look, with something different between them.
Beyond the videos.
Lydia has co-created clothing with SESSEI and NA-KD and written The Art of Outfit Building, a guide to capsule wardrobes and outfit pairing. As an ambassador for Smart Works Greater Manchester, Lydia also supports a charity helping women prepare for employment.
