Mini bio
How it started.
Mackenzie grew up in Pittsburgh and began dancing at two. Her mother enrolled her in voice lessons at six because she was always singing at home. In 2011, she appeared on Dance Moms alongside her older sister Maddie and their mother, Melissa. The family left the series in 2016.
Finding her sound.
She released Mack Z in 2014 and Phases in 2018, and worked with Johnny Orlando on “Day & Night.” Her 2020 single “EXHALE” featured Sia. Under the name kenzie, she moved toward more personal songwriting, including the 2023 song “anatomy” and her 2024 Hollywood Records album biting my tongue.
Writing through change.
Kenzie says writing alone in her bedroom helped her express her feelings before she felt confident speaking up in sessions. Her 2026 EP notes from the in between explores breakups, changing friendships and the uncertainty of adulthood. Alongside music, she continues to act and dance, with She Dances and an announced Broadway engagement in & Juliet in 2026.
