Marianne studied Fine and Applied Art and worked as a professional photographer before moving into content creation full time. SmythSisters brings that visual background to fashion and beauty, with interiors also part of the platform.
The mirror-selfie years.
In a December 2020 interview with VIP, Marianne said they had begun focusing on Instagram content the previous September. Simplifying the pictures and putting the clothes at the centre helped the account grow. Glamour had already spotlighted the account that January for outfits photographed in a simple black-framed mirror and for rewearing high-street staples.
From outfits to edits.
Alongside Instagram, Marianne has written a biweekly fashion column for IMAGE and shared shopping recommendations with Who What Wear. Work has also included a spring/summer 2025 selection for Whistles and a 2026 Zara Fold-er edit.
