Mini bio

How it started.

From Nicosia, Matthew moved to London to study public relations, then completed a master’s at LSE. Work in digital marketing came before The Gentleman Blogger, which launched in 2012 as a place to explore personal style and a more creative side of the business.

Finding an audience.

Street-style photographers noticed Matthew at London Fashion Week, and Esquire recognition helped build the confidence to start a blog. Early commercial interest came from Armani Exchange and Tommy Hilfiger. Tailoring, travel and carefully chosen settings became familiar parts of the work.

Beyond the feed.

The 2013 book London 100, A Gentleman’s Guide paired Matthew’s styling with Adam Tannous’s photographs. Make/Believe, directed by Konstantinos Menelaou, turned the camera toward the person behind the posts. The 2018 documentary lists Matthew as its producer in the Thessaloniki festival catalogue.

Creating and teaching.

Matthew now combines content with teaching and creative direction. Paper01 Lab develops brand experiences and cultural collaborations, while a University of Southampton role focuses on brand creation and experience. Earlier projects include the 7AM campaign with Cyprus’s Deputy Ministry of Tourism in 2021.
