Before the channel.
Born in Germany and raised in Florida, Kevin moved to Ventura as a teenager after meeting Lauren on a school trip. Lauren’s family worked in real estate, and Kevin earned a California real estate license in 2010. In his own account, Kevin and Lauren bought their first fixer-upper in February 2012 using an FHA renovation loan.

Kevin’s YouTube channel began in September 2010 as a way to show real estate clients how Kevin worked. Regular posting became a full-time focus in 2018. In 2020, frequent explanations of stimulus checks and unemployment benefits brought a much wider audience, helping the channel reach 1 million subscribers by December.
