How it started.
Michelle traces By Achilles to kitchen-table experiments in 2017. While studying to become an aesthetician, they expanded into skincare formulation, aromadermatology and herbalism. Their own experiences with acne, eczema and perioral dermatitis prompted the search for a different skincare approach.
The formula that opened the door.
The official brand story dates the launch to 2020 and identifies Sunshine Elixir as Michelle’s first released formula. Michelle describes that product as the foundation that made building By Achilles possible.
Sharing the story.
In January 2020, Michelle told Women’s Health about living with acne since age 12 and the effect it had on their social confidence. Their own Skin school writing explores facial rolling, gua sha and jaw tension. On Instagram, that interest continues alongside herbal tea recipes and personal reflections.
