Mini bio
How it started.
Mike studied architecture, but a break from school on Australia’s Gold Coast gave cooking room to take over. In a 2015 interview, Mike described exploring fresh ingredients and cooking for friends, then coming home eager to keep learning through food television, restaurants and recipes.
Cooking with Josh.
Mike and brother Josh made cooking videos together, with early versions appearing on Vimeo before the Hungry Channel took notice. Their online show Midnight Munchies helped lead to Brothers Green Eats! on MTV in 2015, bringing cooking together with music, travel and celebrity guests.
Finding a solo voice.
On June 28, 2019, Mike introduced Pro Home Cooks, a name for a channel focused on helping people find their own way in the kitchen. Baking guides, quick dinners and collaborations such as the pizza video with Vito Iacopelli give fans practical ways to build that confidence.
Life beyond the kitchen.
In August 2024, Mike introduced the Life by Mike G name. The channel now brings gardening alongside cooking, while the official site offers recipes, digital cookbooks and courses including Conquer the Kitchen, Kombucha Fermenting School and Sourdough Baking School.
