Mini bio
How it started.
Jimmy Donaldson began posting on YouTube in 2012 at 13, using the name MrBeast6000. His early uploads included gaming and commentary. Working from Greenville, North Carolina, he kept experimenting until a simple endurance stunt broke through: counting to 100,000 in January 2017.
Bigger ideas, bigger videos.
He put money back into the next production, turning sponsorships into giveaways and building increasingly elaborate competitions. His recreation of Squid Game became one of the channel’s defining videos. In June 2024, MrBeast became YouTube’s most-subscribed channel; two years later, it reached 500 million subscribers.
Beyond the main channel.
His work now includes hosting Beast Games on Prime Video and co-writing The Most Dangerous Games with James Patterson. Beast Philanthropy turns video attention into support for community projects. With Mark Rober, he has also helped lead #TeamTrees, #TeamSeas and #TeamWater, connecting creator audiences with environmental and clean-water campaigns.
