How it started.
Mustafa began the Astute Attire blog in 2012, according to Famous Birthdays. The project brought together men’s fashion, grooming, food and travel, subjects that still run through the work today.
Finding an audience.
By 2015, Mustafa was part of Grungy Gentleman’s Varsity Project, an editorial featuring 12 menswear bloggers. The brand’s introduction credited an Elle Turkey column and contributions to GQ Insider. Later that year, a GQ Bespoke sponsored feature paired Mustafa with Phil Sblendorio for a conversation about choosing gifts.

At MK Periodical, Mustafa brings menswear together with watches, technology, grooming, dining and travel. In the editor’s letter, Mustafa describes selecting, trying or curating the products and experiences featured. A January 2025 Forbes interview also drew on that perspective, asking for advice for newcomers to Pitti Uomo.
